According to PACER, on or around December 20, 2013, Professional Collection Company sent a collection letter to a North Carolina resident. The letter allegedly threatened that credit problems would arise if she did not pay the debt.

Feeling harassed by Professional Collection Company, she hired a consumer attorney and sued the company for allegedly violating the FDCPA by using false, deceptive and misleading means to collect a debt.

The matter was later dismissed.
