According to PACER, on or around June 28, 2010, LTD Acquisitions, LLC filed a lawsuit against a Pennsylvania consumer to collect payment for a credit card debt. On August 10 the court decided in favor of the consumer, and the agency appealed the ruling, but did not succeed.

Two years later, on March 20, 2012 a representative of LTD Acquisitions, LLC contacted the consumer with a settlement offer, but the amount of the original debt was listed as being over $700 higher than before.

The last payment made on the account was in 2006, which also put it outside the statute of limitations.

Feeling harassed by LTD Acquisitions, LLC, the consumer sued the company for allegedly:

  • Misrepresenting the legal status of the debt
  • Using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt
  • Using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt
  • Trying to collect an amount not permitted by law

The matter was later dismissed.
