Are You Being Called By Leib Solutions, Inc.?*

People who are struggling to manage debt often feel desperate and overwhelmed. It gets worse when debt collectors start trying to collect these accounts, as their methods are not always civil or even legal.

Remember, though, that the law says that you must be treated with respect and gives you standing to take action when you aren’t.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

Over 40 years ago, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) was passed to curb the aggressive actions of overly zealous debt collectors. It grants you important rights and gives you the legal standing to sue a collection agency that subjects you to the following:

  • Harassing you over a debt that you never incurred
  • Leaving voice messages that do not identify them as debt collectors
  • Contacting you directly when they know that you have an attorney
  • Using an autodialer to call you
  • Calling anyone except you, your spouse, or attorney about the debt
  • Calling you names like loser or deadbeat

Alleged Violations against Leib Solutions, Inc.

According to PACER, in or around 2011, Leib Solutions, Inc. allegedly tried to collect a debt from a Pennsylvania consumer by calling his cell phone. He claimed that during the first call, the agency did not identify itself until he asked it to do so and that a representative named “Gregory Perez” threatened to take legal action against him if he did not pay, although no such action ever transpired.

Feeling harassed by Leib Solutions, Inc., the consumer engaged legal counsel and sued the company for allegedly:

  • Using harassing and abusive means to collect a debt
  • Failing to identify itself a debt collector in all communications
  • Threatening to take action that cannot legally be taken

The matter was later settled.
