According to PACER, in or around December 2012, Legal Recovery Resource, Inc. started trying to collect a debt from a Georgia consumer. He alleged that on December 20, a collector left a cell phone message stating that they were calling from the office of Jason Craig & Associates and threatening to place the debt on his credit report if he did not call them immediately.

When the consumer returned the call, the collector was allegedly so abusive that he hung up.

Feeling harassed by Legal Recovery Resource, Inc., the consumer hired an attorney and sued the agency for allegedly:

  • Using harassing and abusive means to collect a debt
  • Failing to identify itself a debt collector in all communications
  • Using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt
