According to PACER, in or about early February 2012, Gravano, Mattrey & Mayner, LLC began calling a California consumer to collect a debt.

During the first communication, he informed the caller that the number was a work telephone number and requested that he not be called there.

Despite this request, collectors allegedly called him several more times at work throughout the month of February 2012.

The consumer also complained that on or about February 22, 2012, Gravano, Mattrey & Mayner called his son-in-law and said that he would be subpoenaed to testify in New York if the consumer did not pay the alleged debt.

Feeling harassed by Gravano, Mattrey & Mayner, LLC, he hired a consumer lawyer and sued the company for the following alleged FDCPA violations:

  • Calling him at work after being asked to stop
  • Engaging in harassing and abusive means to collect a debt
  • Using false, deceptive and misleading means to collect a debt

A judgement was entered in favor of the plaintiff.
