Are You Being Called By Diverse Funding Associates, LLC?*

Although there are laws in place to protect consumers from abusive and unfair debt collection practices, debt collectors continue to behave in illegal and unethical ways and less than 1% of them face legal consequences.

This is because people are afraid to act. It is important to understand that even if you are unable to pay your debts, it does not mean that you should suffer abuse.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, or FDCPA, is a consumer protection law that guarantees your right to dispute a debt and penalizes companies that try to harass you in the following ways:

  • Threatening to sue you or garnish your wages
  • Using abusive or profane language over the phone
  • Chasing you over someone else’s debt
  • Calling you at inconvenient times and places
  • Pretending that they have filed a lawsuit against you when they have not
  • Trying to collect a debt discharged in an earlier bankruptcy
