On or about May 22, 2018, Collins Asset Group, LLC sent a collection letter to an Indiana consumer. A legal aid attorney contacted the company on her behalf, saying she was represented by counsel and unable to pay the debt.

An attorney had also contacted the original creditor in the past, but when Collins Asset Group, LLC it allegedly did not heed this request.

Feeling harassed by Collins Asset Group, LLC, the consumer filed a lawsuit against the agency for allegedly violating her rights by approaching her directly although she had retained an attorney regarding the debt.

The matter was resolved on a later date.
