Are You Being Called By Centerpoint Legal Solutions, LLC?

The debt collection industry is a thriving one because so many people have fallen upon hard times. Even if you owe money, debt collectors can’t bully you to get it, and any agency that tries to violate your rights could be ordered to compensate you.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is intended to protect consumers from debt collectors who go too far. It restricts what collection agencies can do to collect a debt and prohibits actions like the following:

● Calling your friends and family
● Swearing at you over the phone
● Saying that the police can arrest you for nonpayment of a debt
● Threatening to hurt your credit
● Trying to collect a time-barred debt
● Demanding that you pay more than you actually owe
