According to PACER, in or around 2012, a Utah consumer discovered that Aldous & Associates, PLLC had been reporting an apartment debt on her credit report. She disputed it with the three major credit bureaus but the debt was not removed.

On or about May 6, 2013, Aldous & Associates, PLLC allegedly sent the consumer a collection letter on letterhead from a company called Keller Management. It purported to be a settlement agreement from and with Keller Investment Properties LLC, although she had not agreed to a settlement.

It was followed by another settlement letter on November 14, 2013.

In May 2014, the consumer complained that she received a collection letter from Aldous & Associates, PLLC, that threatened litigation if she didn’t pay.

Feeling harassed by Aldous & Associates, PLLC, she hired an attorney to help her file a lawsuit against the firm for allegedly:

  • Using unfair and unconscionable means to collect a debt
  • Failing to identify itself a debt collector in all communications
  • Using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt
  • Misrepresenting the character, amount, or legal status of the debt

The matter was later dismissed.
