According to PACER, on or around March 14, 2014, Luke, Johnston & Lewis began emailing a Texas consumer to collect a debt. He asserted that several emails were received between March and August 2014, none of which identified the sender as a debt collector.

Feeling harassed by Luke, Johnston & Lewis, he got a complimentary consultation from a consumer lawyer before suing the agency for not identifying itself properly in all communications.

The matter was later settled.
