Are You Being Called By Educational Computer Systems?

Collection agencies are rarely subtle. They will call you at inconvenient times, send aggressive letters, and take actions specifically to embarrass you. This happens to you, don’t assume that you have to tolerate such abuse, because you don’t.

Alleged Violations against Educational Computer Systems

According to PACER, in or around April 2015, an Arizona consumer checked her credit report and found that Educational Computer Systems had reported an outstanding student loan. She had never incurred student loans and got the university she had attended to confirm the fact, but on or about February 1, 2016, the agency sent a letter alleging that she owed it $14,643.93.

Feeling harassed by Educational Computer Systems, the consumer got a free case review from a consumer lawyer and sued the agency for:

● Demanding payment for a debt she did not owe
● Reporting inaccurate information to the credit bureaus.

The matter was later settled.
