Alleged Violations against Association Capital Resources, LLC

According to PACER, in or around late 2017, Association Capital Resources, LLC contacted a Florida consumer who had purchased a foreclosed property. The letter stated that he owed a back-logged balance of HOA fees from when the property was foreclosed upon in 2016.

However, the covenants for the property stated that any liens would be extinguished after it was sold. When the consumer attempted to sell the property, he allegedly found that Association Capital Resources, LLC still had a title lien on it. When he approached the company, an agent allegedly replied, “We don’t care what your attorney or ours say, we are entitled to get our money and we are going to get our money or you will not get a release.”

Feeling harassed by Association Capital Resources, LLC, the consumer secured legal counsel and sued the agency for misrepresenting the legal status of a debt.
The matter was later settled.
