They also allegedly told him that he was a grown man and should take care of his debts, and threatened to contact his workplace, have his wages garnished, and apply a cost exceeding $3000.00 in lawyer fees.
In June 2017, Weinberg Mediation Group, LLC allegedly left a voice message on the answering machine of the consumer’s mother, threatening to have the county involved if he failed to pay the debt.
Feeling harassed by Weinberg Mediation Group, LLC, the consumer filed an FDCPA lawsuit against the agency for allegedly:
- Using harassing and abusive means to collect a debt
- Discussing the consumer’s debt with his mother
- Threatening legal action it could not take
