Are You Being Called By Veripro Solutions, Inc.?*

If financial difficulties have caused you to fall behind on your debts, you may already be dealing with debt collectors. These companies are well-known for going to extremes to get you to pay, and many of their methods are both abusive and illegal.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

Over 40 years ago Congress passed the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) to stop the rampant abuse of consumers by third-party debt collectors. It continues to protect you and grant you the ability to take action when collection agencies use these types of actions:

  • Threatening to garnish your wages when they have not even received a judgment against you
  • Calling and sending letters to you directly when you have an attorney
  • Contacting your friends and family for any reason other than location purposes
  • Trying to collect more than you really owe
  • Demanding that you pay someone else’s debt
  • Sending demand letters in envelopes that leave the contents visible

Alleged Violations against Veripro Solutions, Inc.

According to PACER, in or around early 2017, Veripro Solutions, Inc. started calling a Florida consumer to collect a debt. He alleged that each time he answered these calls, he would be greeted by an automated, machine-operated voice message or a noticeable period of “dead air” while the caller’s auto- dialing system attempted to connect him to a live employee.

Feeling harassed by Veripro Solutions, Inc., the consumer filed an FDCPA lawsuit against the agency for the following alleged violations:

  • Using harassing and abusive means to collect a debt
  • Harassing him by phone

The matter was later settled.
