Are You Being Called By Unique Management Services, Inc.?*

Surveys have shown that very few adult Americans do not carry some kind of debt load these days. This makes it potentially catastrophic if you lose your job, become divorced, or experience another setback that can prevent you from making your minimum monthly payments.

If debt collectors try to make the matters worse, don’t let them. No matter what they try to tell you, you can fight back.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) protects consumers from unfair and unethical debt collection practices. It takes punitive action against third-party debt collectors that try to apply the following strategies to collect a debt.

  • Shouting and using profanities
  • Demanding amounts that exceed the original debt total
  • Contacting you at work after learning that the employer does not permit such calls
  • Pretending to be attorneys, police officers, or federal agents
  • Contacting you after you have formally requested that all communications cease
  • Failing to validate the debt on request
