Is Sage Capital Recovery calling you?* Here’s what you need to know.
You’ve likely heard some frightening stories about debt collectors and how they use threats, deception, and humiliation to get indebted consumers to pay what they’re demanding. What’s extra-worrying is that many of these allegations turn out to be the truth. What is not as widely known is that you have rights that prohibit collection agencies from treating you in such a manner.
Your Rights Under the FDCPA
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, or FDCPA, was passed in 1977 because too many consumers were complaining about abuse by third-party debt collectors. This consumer protection law makes it illegal to use methods like the following to secure debt payments.

Alleged Violations against Sage Capital Recovery, LLC
According to PACER, in or about June 2011, collectors for Sage Capital Recovery, LLC allegedly called a Florida resident several times a day regarding a debt. She later complained that during these calls, the collectors left voice mails that failed to identify them as debt collectors. She also alleged that the company failed to provide any documentation detailing the purchases, payments, interest, and late charges, if any, making it impossible for her to determine whether or not she owed the debt and whether it was correctly calculated.
When the calls continued, she hired a consumer attorney and sued Sage Capital Recovery, LLC for the following alleged FDCPA violations:
- Failing to identify itself as a debt collector in all communications
- Failing to send a debt validation notice within five days of the original communication
The matter was later dismissed.

Hire an Attorney
The phone number for Sage Capital Recovery, LLC is 1-856-773-4724. If it appears on your caller ID when the phone rings, it means that a debt collector is looking for you. If they leave voice messages that conceal the company name and purpose or fail to send you a debt validation notice, hire a consumer attorney. Such omissions violate the FDCPA, and if you decide to sue, a judge could order Sage Capital Recovery, LLC to pay you $1,000 per FDCPA violation as well as attorney’s fees, court costs, and any actual damages. When you know you’re in the right, things can go very wrong for an overzealous debt collector.
