According to records on file at the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) website, many consumers who believed they were being harassed by R.M. Galicia, Inc. filed lawsuits to assert their rights.

Alleged Violations against R.M. Galicia, Inc.

According to PACER, on or about March 21, 2011, a Michigan resident sent, through his power of attorney, a letter to R.M. Galicia, Inc. demanding validation of a debt they were trying to collect from him. The following October, he also faxed the company a letter ordering it to stop contacting him, but soon afterwards, R.M. Galicia, Inc. allegedly called him once more.

Feeling harassed by R.M. Galicia, Inc., he hired a consumer attorney and sued the company for allegedly violating the FDCPA in the following ways:

  • Using unfair or unconscionable means to collect a debt
  • Contacting him after he had faxed a cease communications request

The matter was later dismissed.
