Is Millennium Financial Group, LLC Calling You?*

Is Millennium Financial Group, LLC calling you? There are some things you should know.*

Money problems cause stress and take a toll on all aspects of your well-being.

When your accounts become delinquent and creditors assign or sell them them to third-party collection agencies, it can get even worse.

You may find it worse still if the debt collector ignores FDCPA guidelines while collecting or attempting to collect your debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) was passed in 1977 to protect consumers from being intimidated and harassed by third-party debt collectors.

It imposes strict guidelines on what collection agents may or may not do during their communications with consumers.

Some collection agencies wilfully disregard these legal limitations. Millennium Financial Group, LLC is a debt collection agency in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

It was established in 1999, employs 10 to 19 staff and collects all types of consumer debt. Lloyd Durham vs. Millennium Financial Group, LLC

In 2014, Wisconsin resident Lloyd Durham obtained a copy of his credit report. It showed that Millennium Financial Group, LLC was reporting an open account for Legacy Visa with a balance of $520.

Mr. Durham had not made a payment on that account in over six years, putting it past the applicable statute of limitations of six years as set forth in Wis. Stat. 893.43. He disputed the debt with Experian and asked them to delete it, but Millennium Financial Group, LLC allegedly continued to report the debt, which resulted in a negative impact on his credit rating.

He hired a consumer attorney and sued Millennium Financial Group, LLC for violating the FDCPA in the following ways:

  • Reporting false consumer information to the credit bureaus
  • Failing to investigate and correct the disputed information

The matter was later resolved.

The phone numbers for Millennium Financial Group, LLC are 1-877-634-9991 and 1-405-709-9991.If you see either one on your caller ID, it means that debt collectors may be trying to contact you about a debt you allegedly owe.

If they report an out-of-statute debt as active to the credit bureaus, contact a consumer attorney.

If a debt collector disregards your rights and you pursue the matter in court, you could possibly win $1,000 per violation plus attorney’s fees, court costs, and any actual damages.
