Are You Being Called By Financial Control Services, LLC?*

Debt can leave you burdened by unwanted stress. Maybe you lost your job, had a family emergency or spent time in the hospital. There are many different reasons why debt accumulates, but the last thing you need is a collection agency bullying and harassing you about it. Don’t let this happen to you: treating you this way is against the law.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

If a debt collector uses obscene language, harasses you with nonstop phone calls, or makes improper legal threats, they have violated the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA and you may be entitled to financial damages as well as lawyer’s fees. Examples of illegal behaviors include:

  • Calling at inconvenient times, such as before 8:00 a.m. and after 9:00 p.m. in your time zone
  • Pretending to be lawyers, police officers, or federal agents
  • Telling your friends, neighbors, and co-workers that you owe a debt
  • Using profane or obscene language
  • Contacting you after you have sent a cease and desist letter
  • Calling you at work when they know that your employer prohibits such calls
