  • Threatening legal actions they cannot take or have no intention of taking
  • Contacting someone who has formally requested that all communications cease
  • Failing to identify themselves during each communication as a debt collector seeking to collect a debt

Records on file at the PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) website indicate that many consumers who felt they were being harassed by CCB Credit Services, Inc. turned to the law to help them assert their rights.

Alleged Violations against CCB Credit Services, Inc.

According to PACER, beginning on or about June 2012, CCB Credit Services, Inc. started contacting a Michigan resident in an attempt to collect a debt. She later complained that agency representatives used a rude and condescending tone with her and commented that she “obviously does not pay her bills or else CCB Credit Services, Inc. would not be collecting the debt.”

When she informed the collectors that she was willing to pay in $100.00 increments, they allegedly called her “chinsey” and demanded her checking account information. When she asked for an address to send the checks, they allegedly refused to give it to her and said that the only way she could pay off the debt was to supply her checking account information.

She claimed that after this conversation, CCB Credit Services, Inc. would call her up to five times a day and leave messages stating that she was “at risk” and they needed her checking account information so they could “levy” the funds from her banking account every month.

Feeling harassed by CCB Credit Services, Inc., she hired a consumer attorney and sued the company for allegedly violating the FDCPA in the following ways:
