According to PACER, in or around March 2013, Apollo Credit Agency, Inc. started contacting a New Mexico consumer to collect a medical debt. This debt had allegedly been paid as part of a personal injury settlement, so she disputed it and told the collectors to contact her attorney instead. However, the collection attempts persisted and the agency reported the debt to the credit bureaus as valid.

Feeling harassed by Apollo Credit Agency, Inc., the consumer filed a lawsuit against the company for:

  • Using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt
