Are You Being Called By Mandarich Law Group, LLC?*

Dealing with debt collectors is not easy. Even if they are civil, you’re in the embarrassing position of owing more money than you can afford to pay back. If they apply excessive pressure on you to pay and use threatening language, don’t be pushed into bankruptcy.

There are other ways to make the harassment stop.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, or FDCPA, protects you from being hounded to the point of bankruptcy by third-party debt collectors. If the collection agency holding your account tries any of the following, they can be fined and ordered to compensate you.

  • Leaving abusive voicemails
  • Discussing the debt with anyone else except your spouse or attorney
  • Using an autodialer to call you incessantly
  • Filing a lawsuit against you in a remote location, making it difficult to defend
  • Calling you early in the morning and late at night
  • Calling you rude and insulting names
