Alleged Violations against Credit Services, Inc.
According to PACER, In the first part of 2015, an Oklahoma resident noticed that Credit Services, Inc. was reporting an alleged medical debt to TransUnion. Upon investigation, it appeared that the creditor had made a claim to the insurance company of a shop where she had fallen and injured herself, but no insurance payments appear to have been credited to her invoice.
Upon noticing the obsolete account on her credit report, she disputed the account. In May 2015 Credit Services, Inc. updated her TransUnion credit report and “confirmed” that she owed $1,670. The agency reported reported that her account was “Placed for Collection” on June 23, 2010 but reported a date of first delinquency sometime around October, 2009.
Feeling harassed by Credit Services, Inc., She hired a consumer attorney and sued the company for using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt.
The matter was later dismissed.
