Did IQ Data International Not Validate Your Debt?*

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which was passed in 1978, is designed to help prevent unscrupulous debt collection practices. If you have an old past-due debt, and IQ Data International is collecting it, they must abide by the FDCPA and other applicable collection laws.

There are some situations in which even the wrong consumer is pursued for a debt. You have resources available and you also have rights.

If the FDCPA was violated by IQ Data International, you can pursue a claim against them for the damages that you suffered because of their actions.

Talk with a local FDCPA attorney to learn the best way to proceed.

IQ Data International

IQ Data International is a third-party collection agency with more than 50 employees. They concentrate on collecting past due rent from former tenants of multi-family properties. The company was started in 2003, and in 2015 it was acquired by Assurant Specialty Property.

It sometimes operates using the name RentCollect Global. Assurant Specialty Property offers various solutions, including renters’ insurance. When a renter is applying for insurance, they could unknowingly be providing information to a collection agency.

The agency has a B rating with the Better Business Bureau but isn’t BBB accredited. There have been 225 complaints closed in the last three years and 86 complaints closed in the last 12 months. Most complaints involved collection practices.

What Is A Debt Validation Letter? And Why Do You Need It?

If IQ Data International is trying to collect a debt from you, and you don’t believe you owe it or if you think the total is wrong, then you should exercise your rights and ask that the collection agency validate your debt. The validation letter should include the original creditor’s name, the original total balance due, how much you currently owe, and other details.

IQ Data International has five days to respond to your request and provide a debt validation letter. If they don’t properly respond, or if they do something else to violate the FDCPA, then you can file a claim against them.
