Are You Being Called By Amerifinancial Solutions, LLC?*

Many people find themselves in the difficult position of owing money on their credit cards, student loans, and other debt but not being able to repay until their financial situation improves.

Although no one should be ashamed of this situation, too many debt collectors belittle, harass, and intimidate indebted consumers. Fortunately, the law protects you when collection agencies fail to treat you with dignity and respect.

Your Rights Under the FDCPA

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) was passed in 1977 to protect consumers against abuse, harassment, and deception by debt collectors. It provides that if a collection agency violates your rights under the FDCPA, you have a right to bring a lawsuit against it and demand compensation for using tactics like the following:

  • Swearing and calling you names
  • Threatening legal actions that they have no intention of taking
  • Threatening to call your payroll department and tell them you owe a debt
  • Calling you constantly
  • Pretending to be police officers, government officials, or any other law enforcement figure
  • Failing or refusing to prove a debt exists and they are authorized to collect it
